MEET JACQUELINE SASSO, MMFT, LMFT
Hi, I’m Jacqueline.
I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, sports-related anxiety, burnout, young adult transitions, and family dynamics—especially when these patterns feel deeply rooted or generational.
Many of the people I work with notice an internal sense of conflict. One part is trying to keep everything together, another feels exhausted or overwhelmed, and another is stuck overthinking or questioning why things feel so hard. From an Internal Family Systems (IFS) perspective, these “parts” aren’t problems—they’re protective responses that have been trying to help you cope.
In therapy, we slow things down and get curious about what’s happening beneath the surface. Instead of pushing those parts away, we begin to understand them and create space for a more grounded, steady sense of Self to lead.
Much of my work is with high-functioning individuals who look fine on the outside but feel anxious, burnt out, or disconnected internally. This often shows up as overthinking, people-pleasing, performance pressure, emotional exhaustion, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer fit.
My role isn’t to fix you—it’s to walk alongside you as you build a different relationship with yourself. One that feels more compassionate, less reactive, and more aligned with who you are underneath the survival strategies.
This work is deeply meaningful to me because I understand what it’s like to feel stuck in patterns that don’t serve you anymore—and how powerful it is when you start to shift them from the inside out.
My Therapeutic Style
My approach is warm, collaborative, and straightforward. I offer both compassionate support and practical tools to help you move through what’s feeling stuck and reconnect with a stronger sense of clarity and self-trust.
Sessions with me are a space where you don’t have to perform or have it all figured out. You can show up as you are—messy, overwhelmed, uncertain—and be met with curiosity, care, and respect for your lived experience.
Therapy with me is collaborative. We work as a team to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, identify patterns that no longer serve you, and build new ways of relating to yourself and your life.
My work is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed care, somatic awareness, and a systemic lens. That means we don’t just focus on thoughts—we also pay attention to the nervous system, emotional patterns, protective parts, and the larger context of your relationships, family dynamics, and environment.
Rather than only focusing on symptom relief, we also explore what’s underneath the anxiety, burnout, or disconnection so that change can feel more sustainable and rooted.
Clients often describe me as present, attuned, and grounded, with a balance of empathy and directness. I’ll support you in noticing patterns, making connections, and building practical strategies that actually fit your life.
What matters most to me is creating a space where you feel safe enough to be honest with yourself—and supported enough to begin changing what no longer works.
My journey into therapy began with a natural pull toward listening, supporting, and holding space for others.
During my undergraduate years, I volunteered with Camp Kesem and saw firsthand how powerful it can be for someone to feel truly supported during difficult seasons of life. Around the same time, my own experiences with struggle—and the support I received from my therapist and community—helped me understand how deeply impactful it is to not have to navigate hard things alone.
Those experiences shaped both my path and my perspective: healing doesn’t happen in isolation, and the patterns we carry are often shaped by much larger systems and experiences than we initially realize.
In my work now, I support individuals navigating anxiety, sports-related anxiety, stress, burnout, grief, and challenging family dynamics. I also hold a strong interest in how these patterns can repeat across generations and show up in both subtle and visible ways in our relationships, work, and sense of self.
My approach is systemic and trauma-informed, meaning we look not only at what you’re experiencing, but also at the context around it—family dynamics, environment, and the roles you may have learned to take on over time. I also integrate an Internal Family Systems (IFS) lens, helping you understand the different parts of yourself that carry stress, responsibility, or protection.
At the heart of my work is the belief that when people feel safe enough to slow down and understand themselves differently, meaningful change becomes possible.
I deeply value the therapist-client relationship and consider it an honor to walk alongside people as they move through burnout, anxiety, trauma, and transition. Each person’s story is unique, and it matters.
